Five stars. Slam dunk. Had a breakfast cum Brunch. Ordered the ftira. One hot beef, egg, onion. The other smoked salmon and blue cheese. Excellent. Ate half, took the rest for lunch ! Stumbled upon this place will be back. From the looks of it mostly locals - that says a lot.

You know you’re walking into one of the best local hangs when you sit down on little benches holed up with tables on either side and the best (perhaps the most friendliest) service. This one’s right behind the MUZA museum and is a great stop for lunch and/or snacks.

A Heaven on a Hot DayOn a hot day, this place is heaven. It's original, has a great atmosphere, and is refreshingly cool. The food is very good. We ordered a typical island cake, a homemade cake, and a sandwich. On the terrace, there was a very pleasant cool breeze. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Traditional Maltese bakery / bistro. As well as tourists, locals are also guests here, which gives the place an authentic feel. The prices are relatively favourable. This is a great place for breakfast or a snack between meals. Seating is limited (max. 10 inside, a few tables outside).

Walking into the Museum Cafe feels like stepping back into a different era. Tucked away in the heart of Valletta, this place isn’t flashy, nor does it pretend to be. It’s a charming slice of local life — a bit worn around the edges, but in a way that feels lived-in and loved, like an old leather jacket or a well-thumbed book. The food is unpretentious but full of flavor. Take the grilled chicken focaccia, for example: crispy, golden bread, a subtle rosemary aroma, and a simple but satisfying filling that does exactly what it should — hits the spot. Or the lasagna, a classic drenched in a hearty tomato sauce, layered with just the right amount of cheese. It’s the kind of meal you crave after a long day of wandering through Valetta’s old-world laneways. But beyond the food, it’s the atmosphere, and friendly service, that steals the show. The walls are crammed with nostalgic relics — old clocks, vintage posters, and trinkets that seem to tell a story of the place and its people. There’s a busy-ness to the small space with staff and patrons dotting around each other and the small dining tables which line the walls. You never feel pressured to finish your meal in a rush however and can spend your time soaking in the rhythm that makes this cafe feel more like a local haunt than a tourist spot.In a city that’s increasingly polished and ready for Instagram, the Museum Cafe is a reminder of something simpler, more genuine. You don’t come here to be seen; you come to eat, relax, and be a part of the neighbourhood.

A Perfect Spot for Breakfast and Coffee This small, light-filled coffee shop is a true hidden gem. The welcoming aroma of freshly brewed coffee and charming decor set the perfect ambiance. The breakfast menu is delightful.

We enjoyed tasty local ftira sandwiches and coffee for breakfast. The service was very good as well. I can see why local residents seem to like this place a lot - it is worth visiting :)
